Family Ties Conference 2011
Family Ties is a conference hosted each year by Family Business Place. It’s a chance for family business members and advisors from all over the UK to get together face-to-face and listen to carefully chosen speakers talk openly about the issues that affect their family businesses.
This year’s speakers included Marc Stevenson, who with his twin brother Tony, run Stevensons Rocking Horses (whom I’ve previously photographed for a Generation magazine feature), Ross Warburton of Warburtons Family Bakers, June Kenton of Rigby & Peller – luxury lingerie makers and Paul Kelly of Kelly Turkey Farms – home of the world famous KellyBronze turkey.
As a photographer, covering events like this means you get to see so many people from such diverse business sectors, ranging from small husband and wife companies to the CEO of a multi-national family business. Having the opportunity to make them all look a million dollars whilst on stage and capturing some more candid moments whilst they are networking during the breaks is what it’s all about.
