F3 Cup at Brands Hatch
Living just a stones throw from Kent’s premier race track, Brands Hatch, has real benefits. Not only can you go along and have a great day out watching some of the best motorsport in the country whenever you want, but if you get a call at the last minute asking you to pop over and cover an event for someone, it’s really no hassle at all.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance called and asked me to cover the F3 Cup races in which family-run team Mark Bailey Racing was representing them and fundraising on their behalf. The brief was to get pin-sharp shots of the WAA logos on all three cars that MBR were running, as many action shots of the cars racing as possible and plenty of team photos with WAA branding and their collection buckets in shot too.
I had a fantastic day in glorious weather shooting all of the races and meeting all of the teams in the paddock area in between races. There may not be the mega-bucks and massive sponsorship in the lower formulas as in F1, but what these guys lack in finances, they more than make up for in skill, enthusiasm and passion.
I handed the shots over to the clients the following day and they were delighted with them and have subsequently used a large amount of the images on their websites, Facebook pages and other marketing material.
