The Robert Grace Trust
The Robert Grace Trust once again took over the Candid Arts Studio in Islington, London, to celebrate their 25th birthday with a ‘silent’ Affordable Art Auction in order to raise money for the cause, so I went along to cover the event.
In 1986, the architect Robert Grace died of AIDS and in 1987 the Robert Grace Trust was set up by his friends in his memory to provide immediate practical help to people with HIV/AIDS and their carers. Run by volunteers, the Robert Grace Trust has since then provided £700k via the RGT Hardship Fund to those they wish to help.
With the venue heaving all evening with Architects, Artisits and other creative types, and being surrounded by such great artwork, entertainment and food too, the event was a great success, raising well over £5,000 on the night from the auction alone.
